Basswars was founded in Geneva's squat scene in the late 90s. Initially active on the Drum'n'Bass scene, Basswars now offers an uncompromising 100% techno sound. The crew is made up of DJs Busch, Dahu, Low, Maya and Sheerday, who distil a varied techno sound ranging from psychedelic and hypnotic to authentic hard techno.
BUSCH
Music collector and DJ since his teenage years, Busch plays today a cosmico-neuro-stimulating techno, dark and colorful at the same time from his multiple music influences. An invitation to dance and enjoy a captivating and experimental cerebral journey.
DAHU
Dahu discovered the power of rave music in 1994. Since then he has fed off the spirit and diverse sounds of free parties. His techno evokes a disused factory where the forest has reclaimed its rights, leaving behind the smells of damp earth, rust and diesel.
LOW
Founding member of the Bass Wars in the late 90s, Low provides powerful, solid techno, crafted for the dancefloor. With hard-hitting kicks, intense breaks and hypnotic loops, he transports you into a bass tunnel from which you won't come out unscathed.
MAYA
Maya moves behind the decks after 20 years of organising Psytrance and Techno events. Her Techno sets mix heavy bass with melodic or psychedelic layers, with nods to hardcore, house and even world music, always in the free party spirit.
SHEERDAY
Sheerday has been playing hip hop, drum'n'bass and techno on the turntables since 1994, distilling a hybrid mutant techno: a mental and psychedelic sound, somewhere between techno, psytech and minimal, with heavy infrabass lines and sounds that take the mind on a journey!
JOJIFLEX
Media and 3D designer, he produces visuals for the crew and occasionally acts as a VJ. His work gravitates between pure modeling, audio-reactive structures, generative design and many other forms of audiovisual techniques. He particularly enjoys producing images that move with sound.
PRISCILLA
Priscilla is a professional tattoo artist based in Geneva, passionate of big bass and seasoned traveller. She's also a photographer and handles the visual archives for our events. As the right brain of the crew, she coordinates the administrative side of things.
MEL
Mel has been with Basswars since the very beginning, and is fed exclusively of supermassive bass. As a multi-tasker, she's involved in both the administrative and logistical aspects of our various events. She also looks after the dancefloor from start to finish.
